On his next visit to Mexico, Cuban pianist Osmany Paredes, coming from New York, will offer several latin jazz concerts. So far, the following events have been scheduled: Saturday, November 2, at the Zinco Jazz Club located in the Historic Center of Mexico City, and on Sunday, November 3, in Tonal, in the Roma Norte neighborhood. Additionally, he will perform on Friday, November 15, at Jazzatlán, a Jazz Club in Cholula, Puebla. The show prepared by Mikage Project will include arrangements that combine jazz, funk, rock, and Latin music, with tickets available at the venue's box office.
The Ibero-American Orchestra will present the immersive show "Phantom Requiem" on Saturday, November 2, at the Ángela Peralta Theater. The play will feature participation from the Xihuitzilli Folkloric Ballet and the interpretation of songs from the movie "Coco" and by Juan Gabriel. Additionally, Camille Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre will be included. The event will take place at 6 PM.
On the other hand, the musical group "We Are the Ugliest" will offer a Day of the Dead concert with literary calaveritas and songs specific to this celebration on November 1 at 7 PM. The group's members Sandra Ortiz, Verónika Rosalía, Alonso García, and Antonio Caraveo will participate in this event.
Mikage Project, featuring traditional popular songs from different regions of Japan, will perform at the Guanajuato Cultural Forum in León and at the Esperanza Iris City Theater in Mexico City. The group also has scheduled dates in Veracruz and the Mexican capital. The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Lizzi Ceniceros, who has directed various orchestras in several countries. Various national and international works will be performed during the concerts.
This Friday, on the 1st, there will be a concert with Koki Sato on bamboo flute, Sho Asano on tsugaru shamisen, and Takashi Honma on koto. The concert will feature collaboration from singer Leika Mochan, drummer Gustavo Nandayapa, and will blend traditional Japanese pieces with Latin rhythms at the Sebastián Foundation in Mexico City. The evening will include spaces for photographs, a Day of the Dead altar, and musical presentations evoking Halloween. It will be a unique event to enjoy the fusion of different cultures through music.
